Im getting a complete new alarm fitted in 2 weeks and i have a choice between a Meta or an Autowatch.

Has anyone fitted either of these alarms recently that can give me some advice?

I had an autowatch system fitted by Inca in Welwyn Garden. It replaced the old Meta fitted by the factory. It has lots of extra options if you want them (like remote windows, remote boot switch etc).

I'd say the autowatch is good. But haven't any experience of the latest Meta systems.

The Autowatch alarm systems are very reliable , been out to quite a few repairs on meta alarms that have burnt out the earth wires for no reason or have got full of water when the units are supposed to be sealed

Tonyboy,

The Meta alarms which are fitted to later chimps like mine are a pain in the ar$e. I've had no end of trouble with the siren (as mentioned in my email the other day) and occasionally when driving the hazards flash which I have put down to the alram after testing the electrics.

I can't comment on the other system but let me know how it goes as I need a replacement fairly soon.
