not a single problem driving at 150+ both ways and this morning the car decides to breakdown, 10miles from home.... Count myself lucky, as i saw quite a few TVR's getting Piggy Back rides from Recovery Companies.

At least it went 10miles from home rather than in either direction to/from le mans!

I got back to find a cheque from my insurance company and a letter telling me the other party had admitted full liability for a prang back in March

ALso this year was a bonus as not one speeding fine, managed 3 fines last year, 2 for speeding, one for a crossing white line thing.. In fact only saw one speed camera and he was busy on his phone chatting away...

I think alot of the ones that we saw going out of BeauSejour on low loaders were not so much "broken down" as thrashed clutch/drive shaft/diff/'box ... i am sure that some people must go to le mans with the full intention of returning via Hertz .... still its all good entertainment for the rest of us!!!

Lots of 911's on lorrys surprisingly ... more even than TVR's possibly?!

Didn't see any broken down TVRs,
saw a kit car turned up at our campsite broken down,
there was also this big blue american car on our ferry both ways, worked on the way, on a trailer on the way back
(serves him right he nearly run me over)

Was thoroughly impressed by the lack of broken machinery this year.

My only usualy concern is temps in traffic and the new rad seems to have sorted that - didn't exceed 89C at any point.

Hopew everyone else had good trips there and back!

not sure what the connection is, but saw 3 cars on space-saver tyres and they were all Porsche.

As we left Le Mans joined the Peage at the Junction by the Auchan Hypermarket and there was a broken down TVR waiting for some form of roadside recovery. One or two classics also broken down on the autoroute.

I was surprised to see several RAC vans driving past the entrance to Expo on several occasions. Perhaps they decided it was cheaper to send their own vans down to aid with roadside assistance.

Pretty shrewd actually. It's a given that some cars are going to conk out, what with the heat and..."exuberance" shall we say Definitely worth a punt on the old "sign up at time of breakdown" push.

Funny that...11 TVRs and a 911 in our party. The 911 was the only one that needed recovering home. 1 TVR also had problems (hoses etc) but the mechanically minded owner got it going 3 times

It's that crappy German engineering.

My Blackpool manufactured car didn't miss a single beat, even when sitting in stationery traffic at 35+ degrees. It just burbled away like it was a cold weekend in Lancashire.

Maybe they didn't have flats but put them on to make sure they didn't get tempted to speed...

My 1986 Porsche 944 with 138000 miles on the clock, no worries, didn't miss a beat, even in the roasting traffic.
Didn't see any TVRs broken down but did see lots of modern Renaults on the back of recovery trucks though.
Saw one gendarme speed camera and that was it. But I do know there were some big fines issued as I was talking to a guy at Calais whose licence was now with the gendarmes.
