Hi,

I have 512k BT broadband at home which work has installed for me - which clearly I use for work stuff. But also plug my home PC into it. Works fine. But . .

I can receive my email from ntlworld and beeb.net email accounts no problem. But it seems as though I cannot send email via MS Outlook 2003 because I am not using a SMTP address from my ISP provider (i.e., BT).
Can anyone out there advise me of the correct BT SMTP address - or advise me on how I can find out what it is ?

Thanks v much

Tim

depending on what BT have decided to change their name to this week it could be one of the following:

smtp.btclick.com
mail.btinternet.com
mail.btopenworld.com

If you're connecting via an NTL broadband you'll also need to use SMTP authentication to send via a BT account. That's by design to prevent spamming.

The first address is currently the same as smtp.btconnect.com
the last two point to yahoo branded servers.

Your BT email address should probably match one of the domains above so use the one that matches and if its a yahoo domain then btinternet or btopenworld should work
