All,

As you are all aware my engine was rebuilt in October of this year.

Well as it is a speed 6 engine I always get it serviced at main dealers because of the problems I have had in the past.

Well the last service I was told it was a Lambda sensor which had gone which is why it wasn't running well, they never had any in stock, so I left it a week phoned them back and they still never had one in.

I took it somewhere else and they diagnosed the problem not as a Lambda sensor but a spark plug it appears the spark plugs were not changed at the last service.

I will be on the phone to TVR on monday morning to let them know, what else can I do?

How long ago did you have the service??, If the car is not running well it could be badly affecting the spark plugs thus making them look like they have not been changed. I can't see that for the price of spark plugs, about £1 each to the dealer that they would not change them because of the grief they would get if they got found out!!!!, I could be wrong however!!!. How much do you trust the new place you took it to??, They could be trying to make you stop using the main dealership and to use them instead!!! just an idea!!.

I had a service on my Griff when I bought it from a TVR main dealer(i.e. as part of the sale agreement) . I know for a fact that the oil and filter were not changed - and the dealer admitted as much when questioned. I was given a story about 'part of the service work being subcontracted to another group company, but the lube bit is done here and there has been a mix up.' Utter crap. The horn wasn't working the day after they 'serviced it'. Funny that.

They had stamped the service book but not done a service.

They are no longer a TVR main dealer.

It happens.

I wrote to TVR themselves about this - personally I don't think the factory monitor their dealers closely enough.

RCA,

I know what you mean but the main dealer wanted to charge £140 + £50 to fit the lambda sensor, where as the new place, only want's to charge me for the plug?

As for how long between the service and the new place, only a matter of 160 miles driven.
