THE Allegro

All the fine machinery at LM, but for me, the brown Allegro running up and down Arnarge/Indy was the muts. Brilliant!

Anyone get a pic/video of it?

Oh, and the 2 'cops' in the Cobra with a loud hailer telling everyone to move along. Class

i think the "practical classics" rolls royce that was drifting around houx did it for me .... the biggest nail of a roller, with more tappit rattle than an old cortina and they were spanking it about!!!

We stayed in Rouen Thursday night and saw this machine, as the guys were parking it up. Was then great to see it Sunday still driving around at Lemans...Top effort, made me chuckle and the monaco plate was king!!

It was the sirens and IIRC a 'cow horn'? that I found so amusing...oh and the fact the bloody thing made it all the way there. My parents bought one for my older brother to learn to drive in. Knowing how bad they are I have nothing but admiration for those guys.

My BiL told me about the Roller but i didnt see it myself

It was brilliant, painted in matt colours (presumably to be laser-proof?) it rolled like mad in the corners because the guys were just hammering round the place and it sounded rough.

The two guys have bought another one, being decked out in blue 'Gulf' colours, number five on the doors. Other mods will be displayed in June.

We've got a 1972 Mexico (Turd) Brown Rover P6 3500S V8 going in our convoy this year! Did a 1972 Daimler a few years ago, and a Triumph PI 2.5 the next year.

(The Rover will be going as long as we get a new bonnet for it - it had a bonnet catch failure moment this morning, and the ally bonnet is a bit worse for wear! And the guy that owns it is in Egypt on hols, so we'd better get it fixed sharpish!)
