How much did you see of the race
Discussion
I saw the start, stayed by the dunlop chicane for a bit, moved to the esses for 15 mins, went off to hunt down some shade... later went to arnage and mulsanne for a couple of hours till 12.30am... Then the heat had me sitting under a tree in the campsite till 3.30, went to the porsche curves, which wasn't really good, very dirty and smelly there, then headed to the finish line for the end! I would have watched loads more, but I just couldn't bear baking all day.
We go for the race.
We watched the start downstream of the Dunlop Bridge. Stayed there for a while, then went to camp for showers. We then headed to Porsche Curves, until the Charletans gig, which we went to. After that we watched the race from there for a while, before going to bed. We got up at 5am, and went to Arnage. We then went to Mulsanne. Went back to camp to try to get a couple more hours of sleep. Left for the village at about 12 o'clock, where we stayed untill about 6pm.
Only missed about 7 hours of racing. Great stuff...

hmmm i only slept about an hour, maybe two max between 5pm sat and 5pm sun.... not all of that was spent watching the race though, some, in fact a considerable amount of it, was spent dodging Gendarmes trying to get to the Mulsanne straight to get some footage.... and then walking to Arnage afterwards...
otherwise, defintely recommend a Le Mans radio radio, hourly updates helps you keep track of who is where and otherwise they do a good job of keeping you entertained abou the happenings on track...

tried to watch start from Porsche Curves ... the Danes had moved in ... but saw about 20 mins there
Then went to Tetre Rouge for an hour.
Mosied towards the Dunlop bridge a bit then off for food.
Bit of night racing from Porsche Curves
Sunday decamped and went down to Mulsanne for a few hours then offski ... unfortunately could not hang around till end of teh race because of our ferry and an unwillingness to support French Plod's Xmas fund.
All in all, probably saw about 6 hours of the race.

Watched the first couple of hours just down from the Dunlop chicane. Went up to Arnage / Indianapolis at about 10pm and stayed there until 7am Sunday. I have to watch the racing at night, otherwise it might as well be just another round of the LMS or FIA GT series! Once back at the campsite, however, I didn't bother going back to the circuit. It was getting too hot and I figured I'd seen what I wanted to so I just chilled out with a beer, listening to Radio Le Mans.
I did also watch all of Wednesday's wet qualifying from the pits grandstand and most of Thursday's from Arnage...

I find it difficult to stay in one place for more than 2 hours... it just gets boring I think...
Hey Alex. I saw the Astra van on the Friday at Arnage and couldn't for the life of me remember who it was. Thanks for the memory jog! Oh, and I did nod off during the night at Arnage once or twice, between Corvette and Panoz passes!

I managed to watch the start of the race and the following 3 hours or so, then went back to the campsite for a recoup and a beer and then headed back to the circuit at about 22:30 and stayed out until 08:00 sunday morning. Rounded it all off with the final hour from the grandstand.
Soooooooooooperb weekend!

We watched the start down by the ACO place near the fair ground then wandered up to the bar by the tunnel at the main entrance before heading down to Mulsanne corner till about 6.30 am. Didn't get up quiet as early as planned so only got the last few hours in. All viewing spots were suitably close to beer facilities.
Mulsanne was awesome in the wee small hours especially when the entire pack got bunched up behind the safety car - the noise when they were released

Watched the start from the start line and stayed there for about 2 hours, wandered up to Dunlop bridge and stayed there for about an hour, then on to Tetre Rouge for about an hour.
Watched the rubbish support band whilst keeping an eye on the track till 10, back to camp for half an hour then the annoyingly slow drive to Arnage. Got there about 12.30, stayed till about 1, walked up to Indie for about an hour, then on to Mulsanne for about 2 am, Stayed there, got back to camp for 3.30 then grabbed some beers and went to the pit straight till about 6am.
Then I collapsed for 3 hours and slept. Up and out of camp by 10.30 to the Porsche curves but lost my sense of humour a bit due to little sleep and extreme heat so went back to camp by 12. Stayed there till 3 then went to the start finish straight again to watch it all end.
Cracking 24 hours. Only my second ever (a very hot '05 was my first) and saw so much more of the race this year. Liked it when it got less busy after 9pm and watching the sun rise over the main Grandstand/Dunlop bridge was very cool.
Basically, saw as much as my body could take but I really suffer in the heat and having a blister that covered 75% of my little toe did not make me want to walk too far.
Excellent though, really enjoyed it. People who go for the drinking should definately at least try and see more of the race, especially the night stuff at Arnage and Mulsanne.
