Insurance for 21 y.o.

Any of you have any ideas regarding insurance for a 21 year old? Do classic car insurance companies only accept over 25's?

One of the companies recommended on the tvrcc would not insure my mate because he does not have enough experience - he is 35!

I got insurance last year on the Tasmin via Lancaster. At the time I was 23 with one non and one fault accident in 2004.

The price was steep but never the less they were the only company i tried who would quote me. I've just declined the renewal becasue I'm looking to do something a bit special to the car shortly.

I'm paying about £220 fully comp on a 4.5 litre 350 (limited to 2k miles, garaged, 2 years NCB, I'm 29) I'm with Footman James.

Lynbrook!! I am 24 (23 when I first got the car) and pay £250 with 8000 miles. They are one of the few that will do a classic policy for over 21's.

Flamin eck..! I'm 34 and pay £236 on a 400, with 3000 miles pa...Classicline.
And i've just re-newed

i searched the internet high and low and the only people who would insure me was elephant for 1200 for ten months. It was 990 for anything other than a 400 for some reason, including those slow SEACs.....

The only number I can find is 08451304662.
That is not the number I rang originally. Try it and see what they say. If they aren't any good mail me and I will look harder for the original number. I think this is the number for their broker!!

think i was 22 when i bought my tasmin, doesn't really matter about engine size as they are all group 20. anyway my g/f happened to be 25 so i insured myself fully comp on my fiesta, she insured the tvr fully comp on classic and i drove the tvr 3rd party on my fiesta policy. only thing with that is that i had to register the tvr in my g/f name as you cant drive a car you own in this manner.

Try Hagerty on 08700 420 220. No age restrictions and very competitive. Has to be garaged though. I'm paying about a quarter of the quote I received for renewal (original insurers wanted to increase it!)

Was it because he hadn't driven a powerful RWD car before? Think statistics show the majority of TVR accidents happen in the first year of ownership and don't involve another car.

Not sure but try adrian flux. It cost me £190 for fully comp and european breakdown cover, Mind you im 34 and i have 5 years no claims. Give it a try though you never know eh?
