Temperature max 70 degrees?

My cerb performed faultlessly throughout Le Mans. I used some water-wetter to keep it cool. Although on the way home in traffic I only reached a max of 70deg, now I’ve topped up with some more water, it doesn't seem to be on the gauge registering any higher than the previous 70 degrees. Could I have air in the system? Due to the summer coming up there's little antifreeze in there, it’s mainly water-wetter and water. Can anyone help?

The fans were on yesterday when I came back - but due to high speeds it never came off 5o degrees?

Please help... also noticed i've a blowing exhaust! Another one to fix!

It sounds more like the capiliary for the temperature gauge has been dislodged/affected in some way. My temp gauge ended up like this when I had the water pipes replaced (I was warned that it might happen prior to doing the job). The ECU is supplied by an independent temperature sensor, so provided the fans are cutting in and out ok, you'll be alright until you get a new gauge fitted/do something else. When mine went I had an aftermarket fan controller fitted. I'm aiming to replace the original gauge with an oil temp/pressure gauge in the future.

You'll see it tie wrapped to the chassis rails - one end is terminated in a sender attached to the water pipes, the other attaches directly to the back of the gauge, within the instrument pod.

Mine started to show lower and lower readings over a period of time, till eventually didnt read anything at all!...Had to replace the gauge!

Yeah, bit of a pig to replace though as the whole sensor needs to be fed through the engine bay grommet and through the pedal box - its all one piece.
