just got confirmation earlier of the date for this years event to be held, as usual in the grounds of Kimbolton castle, which is between St Neots and Huntingdon and is signposted and reachable from the A1.
this keeps getting bigger everya year and i hope this years event will be one of the biggest yet! all the major regional car clubs and enthusiasts will be there and there will be the ususal craft fair, trade stalls, beer tent and the fantastic "Dream Rides"etc so there will be something there of interest for everyone. this is a great day out and it is all for a good cause.
hope to see a lot of regional PH'ers in attendance this year!
cheers!

Unfortunately I won't be there! Was really looking forward to it after having displayed last year with the TVRCC and was even wanting to do the dream rides.
However, I will be on my way down through France on the 2nd day of the Furball...... far more fun IMHO!!!

How does the 'dream ride' scenario work? Kids would like this, and I know it's all for charity, but any idea of cost/cars involved? Obviously not yours!!

Is there anyone actually showing at this event (bar Mr Sheen I believe)? Was planning on going, if I make it back from the River Festival.

Insurance would be the sticking point for most people.

I suspect most insurance policies, mine included, are unlikely to cover any commercial use, and that would almost certainly include something like 'Dream Rides'.

As far as I know (from what's on the website) only the Gold(lead)wings appear to be included in the dream rides.

Perhaps previous attendees can elaborate on this one...

You're a lucky chap Zippee, have a great time

Dream Rides: normally there is a list of cars at the Dream Rides tent where you can view the cars and their prices. Once you have decided on which car, pay your money and then Dream Rides organise the car and then you're off for a blast as a passenger. Normally takes about 10 minutes'ish, depends if they get lost or not (I speak from experience)!
Depending on which cars eg Lamborghini or XJ200 £50-£75 (approx.), TVR or Ferrari £15-£25 (approx.)

3 or 4 years ago, one chap bought his Lamborghini Diablo SE30 and his Ferrari 355 to help raise money. I do know that the same chap now owns an F40 (C4LLS); let’s hope he makes it on Sunday.

Zip, have you been reading the thread in General Gassing about the guys who had their cars confiscated? Phew, take care!

Seen those posts and various other scare stories. The French police really are getting hot on Brit speeders on the autoroutes round Calais. But we have a cunning plan for this section - basically we aren't going to drive like tits!!! Thats the only reason all these others have been pulled.
Anyone can go fast on a straight road and it's boring to be honest! We aim to save the speed for the fun bits in the Alps, such as the Stelvio Pass......

These rides are not for commercial gain, as 100% of proceeds goes to charity. The car is not being hired or used for reward, so insurance should not be an issue.

I did some rides in my 328 last year (including forthright mc), at £20 a go. The Countach was the most expensive at £30, whereas a 355 replica was £5.

I shall be there again this Sunday.

So more an option for the 'grown-ups' really. Is anyone willing to let screaming kids, covered in ice-cream and sticky sweets, sit in their cars? - It is a 'family' day after all.

They would of course be hosed down, disinfected, and gaffa taped, don't want them thinking it's a day any different to usual.

How hot was it! Great day though. But didn't see any PH stickers...I think you are all a figment of my imagination!!

And if anyone has any photos could you post them please? As other than my phone I didn't have a camera with me.

Especially of the Cobra's, Mr Oxley's was lovely - Congratulations to him, loved the sound of that Corvette too.

Kids enjoyed their ride on a Goldwing, didn't do the 'Dream Rides' in the end, though saw a Ferrari out on my drive up there.

Was it a 328? I gave 8 dream rides today, raised £160 for charity. Excellent fun, and will be back for more next year.

it was a really great day, i had a fantastic time! the weather was brilliant and i used up 3 rolls of film in my camera! must have taken a photo of every car there especially the TVR's! that was a fantastic show of cars, much bigger than i first expected! particularly liked the 2 Tuscan 2's, the chameleon green T350T and i loved that wildfire red Tamora, it looked and sounded amazing!
the dream rides were excellent again too! i did 3 again this year this time in the Chimaera, Jag XK and the Tuscan S (possibly the fastest thing i've been in! even though it was running a bit rough!)
was good to speak to F328GTS and Mr Sheen there too!
saw lots of familiar cars there from on here, wanted to say hello to you guys i recognised but unfortunately i missed some of you, you may have seen me about though, i was the big guy with the blue TVR logo shirt on and grey 3/4 lengths.
look forward to getting all my photos back now and look forward to seeing any pics any of you guys took!
roll on next year!
