Hi All,
Looking for some advice on CBR1000's, the original not the recent bloated Fireblades.
I'm looking for a cheap, comfortable return to biking after a little while off bikes. Unfortunately, due to criminal bank charges and an outrageous interest rate on a previous credit card I'm limited to £1500 budget. I'm 6'2" with a dodgy back so I need a bit of room. I'm considering a CBR1000 as an alternative to my usual BMWs.I will be doing 20k p.a. mileage
Are there any particular weaknesses or problems I should be looking out for?
Ta,
Tom

Hi there,
Its one of those bikes which started as a sports bike and soon became a tourer due to its weight etc.
Very reliable so long as the regular maintenance has been done.
Not desperately great at anything but good middle of the road (often forgotten) sports tourer.
Have you considered a ZZR1100? Extremely comfortable and a great engine (even by todays standards). You could get quite a nice one for £1500
