16" rear tire size?

I've got 245 45 16 on mine. This is the max as they are very close to the tie rod bar thingy.

Considering the very limited availability of tyre sizes around this type of dimension the 245 is the only real choice.

I have cerbie 16" on mine and they are also very close to the tie bar - I would like more offset really. But they do fit.

Blatant advert here ... I have a pair of 245x45x16 tyres, Cannot recall the make, but they are good ones .. only done about 200 Miles, been stored in my garage in the dark May take them to BBWF if anyone is looking for a pair.

Yeah - I've heard that the insurers take a dim view of spacers. So I might have the wheels engineered to give more offset (like a spacer, but permanaetly attached to each wheel, so part of the wheel really).

I was thinking of something like this too, 10mm needed, and am talking to the machine shop engineers at work. I want to be able to use the original wheels too so need to see if it is possible to use a stud length which is long enough with the spaced wheels and short enough to fit inside the wheelnuts with the standard wheels.

Interesting. I've never heard of any specific problems and there are many TVR users (and other makes esp. Ferarri) on these forums that use them. It's cuious that your insureres are willing to accept a mod to the wheel but take a dim view of spacers. Oh well, good luck.

My spacers are nothing like that - I would guess 3-4mm. No problems with those and ex-race Tuscan 16"
