I'm on a bit of a downer at the mo, friday night, was out for a mates birthday, in the pub, couple of pints (of Americas finest black fizzy stuff) then homeward doing the usual free taxi stuff along the way. Anyway, got to the car and was immediatly 'hit' by a cold, just like that, shivers, sniffles, sore throat, , cough!
Couldn't belive how quickly it came on,
So, over the last couple of days, I have dessimated a box of beechams flu plus hot berry drink, gone through 2 sets of bed sheets, and 4 boxes of tissues, and I currently on my last Beechams drink, and all the shops are shut.

Anyone got any quick fix remedies for colds?!

Need to go to work tomorrow, but in my current state, that ain't gonna happen!

help.

A very bunged up Stuart!

All I can say, mate, is that I've been struggling with one since last Tuesday - and its still going strong. It was why I missed VW. But at least I've mostly kept going to work and did go to our "Christmas Dinner" last night.

So - no Panaceas, my friend. You just have to keep going when you can or have to and get as much rest as you can when you don't.

Best of luck - and I hope yours doesn't last as long as mine is doing!

Drink half a bottle of scotch in the bath.

Granted its not the most elegant solution to the problem but it does take it head on.

Matt.

1. Raw garlic sandwiches and don't go out for a day or two - for the rest of the world's sake as much as yours after eating the sanis.

2. Wrap up warm go for a walk up and down a few hills - sweat the thing off and might get you fitter (if u r not already). Did this last week and it actually worked.

3. Lots of vitamin C and absolutely no cold drinks.

4) Then sleep, Stuart, as much sleep as you can manage. Had this thing a fortnight ago and slept for two solid days. Worked a treat.

slept from 6.30 last night to 9.30 this morning! I have been trying to sleep since about 8 tonight, but I don't seem to be able to!

Sneezing alot though. Every time I sneeze I get sharp stabbing pains across the top of my chest and my shoulders. The pain last for about 5 minutes!

Colds are an excellent excuse for the hottest Vindaloo the local curry house can provide. Works for me every time.

Second that. Also whisky macs - whisky (cheap variety) plus Crabbies. Lines the throat, and after five or six of those you don't mind your cold.

mmmm whisky mac

Must go buy bottle of Crabbie's asap. Brandy instead of whiskey is pretty good also.

Advice for cold?

Drug/drink induced coma to sleep it off.

Three Cheers for Beechams Cold and Flu Capsules!!!

Taken 4 so far today, sore throat has gone, I can burp without coughing for a fortnight afterwards.
No Headache, my nose feels like a storm drain, got tissues stuffed up each nostril cos I can't be arsed constantly wiping the damn thing
I'm only coughing occasionally.

Slept for 13 hours on and off last night. I felt really crappy when I woke up, but thats probably because I was under a 17 TOG quilt!!

Back at work tomorrow I think.

Cheers for the Sleep advice McNab, worked splendidly

And sadoksevoli for the Vitamin C advice, although the only way I could administer it was in Orange Juice, it is helping too!
