There's been a lot of chat about pikeys, thefts and different campsites so here's a thought....

Along the same lines as Airtrack how about sorting an enclosure for just PH members with own security, toilets etc? Obviously it'd take some thought and a bit of ACO knowledge but would it be worthwhile and would enough folk be interested?

Good thinking! I heard PH was acknoledged on Radio LeMans, so surely it must be big enough for this. I would love not to have to rely on chance to meet other PHers, and with the comments about the lack of respect for the best cars, it seems a very good idea! Count me in!

Sounds like a very good idea and one I'd certainly be up for.

I have a friend who used to work rather high up at the ACO, not sure if any string pulling can be done since his retirement but enquiries could be made.

There may be issues with regard the the use of PH as a brand namein terms of public liabilty insurance etc. I've made this thread sticky, but I think Ted might want to mull it over as gatherings under a PH banner are necesarily PH's responsibility - and God knows what French public liability law is like!!

Good idea though

I'd be interested for sure...

Heres an idea, you could always go and coerce SpeedChills into maybe being the unoffical backers of the PH enclosure or alternatively as neilchills to see if they could cope. They have some of the stuff, I guess it would just increased in size a bit.

Sounds like a plan

Another good idea that - sure people would be happy to pay a little more (if req'd) for more secure area and facilities.

Be happy to help with the organising in anyway if we can get permission from PH Hq

I heard that as well around the time of the start of the race!

Not a bad shout - which site would be the choice though?

Me too - I'd happily assist if it came off. Perhaps the best bet (and something I was considering for next year) would be to book a campsite a little way from the track and have MPV's provided / taxis booked. We could have a seriously nice set up.

Question is, would there be enough up-take to cover the cost (economies of scale and all that).

Quick input as the day job has to be done after weeks of neglect ;-)

Speed Chills has public liability insurance for its operation in France and acts within the 2007 onwards ACO regulations as well as a supplier network in the area.

What about a PH sponsored Speed Chills? Loads of possibilities and we are happy to work with Ted on it...

Lotus 7 club have been doing this for 12 years now, using camping blue south - own showers, cooking facilities, wide screen, bands , own security etc . It works well but the logistics involves lots of volunteers and an articulated truck to deliver all the gear. The added bonus is that Ms Pepe le poo is also located 100m away with his 1st class download facility

I need to catch up with someone regarding this as they were planning on doing a recce for us this year with this in mind. It's been discussed many a time, but the key to making things like this work is to find the right business partner who has the local knowledge and contacts etc.

I'll chase up and see where we got to with it.
