It was great to see so many Porsche's at Virginia Water today. I didn't manage to have a look at all the cars, but it was great to see such a good turn out.

Keep Motoring!

Was good to see you and your 944S There were lots more Porsches there this time, a real variety. I think Melv's RS Cup Car must have been one of the loudest cars there - just like being at Goodwood Festival of Speed! Great idea having a minutes noise
Who owned that rather nice blue 964/993 can't remember which it was, but I think it was a turbo - with wide wheel arches and whale tale? I liked that one a lot!

An excellent turn out of porkers today. As with other makes. The downside of this is there being so many people I wasn't able to meet everyone and thus put faces to names from the boards I regularly post too.

DAZ :beers:

PS - hope everyone had a good day (Aside from the two poor sods with the cerbs who had a nightmare of a day.)

What happened to you AndyL? We all set off from the White Lion near Reading, then you disappeared?

I can happily report that Porsche beat TVR at the traffic-light grand prix (C4S vs Tuscan). BHP counts for nothing - it's more a matter of 4WD is better than 2WD in the wet! Both of us were seriously sideways in 2nd though. Big Grins...

I turned left instead of right at Pangbourne Found myself driving into Purley, hmmm this doesn't look right... Eventually got back on the route but you were all long gone by then - Sounds like you had a good time though!

We waited a while at Reading services - but eventually decided that you must have been finding your own way!

I was relieved to see you got there ok!

To the 996 owning PHer who I agreed to take out for a demo run in the turbo, I'm sorry I had to shoot off but the local authorities were taking a closer than normal look at vehicle movements in the area. Anyhow I hope you enjoyed the day, find me at a subsequent meet for the demo.

cheers

PS - Tony, nice to meet a fellow porsche nurburgring nut (Tony 996?)

Yep, a pretty impressive range of cars on view, and good to get to talk to a few PHer's.

Dazren, perhaps we should suggest a PH meet at the 'ring, although not sure that their car park would be big enough for all of us!!!

it was wonderful to meet some of you, in some cases again. I think I'll even be able to recognise some of you next time!! On the one hand it was lovely to have my 5 year old son with me, but unfortunately he demanded so much of my attention that I hardly got to see anyone.

Next time ... - but not March.

Rgds, WalterU

I'm trying to organise a trip for a few freinds and PHers in late May, the current problem is confirming dates and getting the accomodation booked. I will be posting details should any PHers wish to join us, it would also be good if some of the Germany based PHers were to have a weekend and a few beers in Nurburg.

Apologies - I just posted another thread about the VW meet - guess I should read all the threads before posting?!

Seems like there's at least a couple of good ol' Ring enthusiasts around - I'd be well up for an organised trip across there Dazren! When I say organised, I mean only being there on the same weekend, and perhaps convoying across, NOT you sorting out all the accomodation, etc.

So I'm now guessing the black 996 belongs to Tony?

I've now done about 12 trips in total to the Nurburgring over 4 years, and my lap times are down to 8.45 in my old car. I'm hoping the 968 CS I've just bought should help bring that down further to below 8.30. I'm currently planning on one trip per month between Apr - Jun this year, but haven't fixed on any dates yet. If we could coordinate something, that would be great!

Cheers,

SFV

Dazren/SFV,

From our chat yesterday, I think Dazren was planning on doing one of the "public day" open sessions (I stand to be corrected), which is what I have done in the past. However SFV, with lap times like that, I would guess you would be on for official closed track days. I'm definitely keen on a trip, as are others I know.

From chatting in the past, I think that Melv is also a fan of the 'ring... although his experience is in a different leaugue.

Guys

I think Tony and myself are cross posting at the same time. Tony have a look at SFV's VW thread on the Porsche board.

Oh, yes it is public days I go on. Due to a height problem I can't fit in my car wearing a bloody helmet.
