Screen Washer or not!

The pump in the reservoir (in the boot in my V8S!) seems to be working OK but I'm only getting a dribble out of the jets now - certainly not enough to hit the screen. I've tried the pin down the jet holes trick with no improvement. Does the washer jet come out the easy way - i.e. upwards and out of the top of the bulkhead or is it going to be right bl**dy b*stard of a job scrabbling away behind the dash to get it out from below? Any clues anyone?

Suggest you ditch the washer jets altogether, and fit a spray bar system (as per Chimaera/Griffith). Does a far better job of clearing the screen, and none of this nonsense about trying to clear blocked jets. I got mine fitted by Tower View, othe have done their own using (I think) Renault parts.

...and citroen bx's. You'll need to find two though as the bx only had one wiper. Happily you'll find loads of these cars in scrap yards as they are sh*te.

PS. The only problem I had with spray bars is that when it's really cold the water in the spray car would freeze after you got going as they are being very efficiently cooled by wind blast and the evaporation from the tiny holes and you don't get any heat from the engine to thaw them. The worst moment I had in the bx (and there were so many to chose from) is when the big wiper swept across the screen covering the screen with ice and then the spray bar froze solid leaving me blind on the M6 at 70 - fantastic. Didn't seem to matter how much windscreen cleaner fluid I put in it the evaporation effect always resulted in a frozen system.

Was wondering about spray bars; glad to hear it can be done.. As it is I have to carefully time spraying when I am at just the right speed otherwise its useless.. Either hits the screen too low and dribbles off the side, or goes over the roof despite adjusting the jets every few trips..

OK guys - problem solved for the time being anyway. Took it to a garage where a mate works - and he stuffed an air line onto the nozzles and it appears he blew them clear - lots of frothing in the washer bottle! At least I can clear the screen now - not the best but it works and should be enough for the MOT.
