Two thirsty Polos

Are VW Polos renowned for heavy oil consumption. Two of my colleagues have recent cars that both drink outrageous amounts of oil. I'm talking a litre every 600 miles. I thought my Alfa 156 was bad at a litre every thousand or so...

Sent them both to the dealer and was told TADTS. This seems excessive to me, to say the least...

A different engine i know, but my 1.8T has used less than 2 litres in 44000 miles, excluding oil changes obviously.

I'd say a litre every 600 miles is well OTT.

I think so too. For what it's worth, both affected vehicles are 1.4 petrols.
