Peninsula have just finished fitting a 2.9 V6 24 valve Cosworth engine to a customers S4
Thought this would make a good thread

The cars owned by a fellow PHer who posts on here as gbgaffer. He has posted a few snippets through other threads and started a thread himself, have a look in 's-series/what have I done' thread for details.

Sounds like a good conversion. Does the 24v cosworth V6 weigh more that the 8v one (or an Essex)?

Would a 24v Cosworth fit into an 'M' series?

If I keep the car (and take it back to NZ) then something like that has to be on the cards.

Probably a V8 though.....

Jag 6 might fit, but would be heavy. We'll see.....

Did you get your electrical problem fixed last week?

Don't know the weight difference, probably not much in it, as although the 24V engine has 'Ally' heads, there are 4 cams.

Would it fit an 'M' - don't know as although the block is the same, the cylinder heads stick up more and the exhaust manifolds have to clear the cam chain housings so could be a bit wider. This may be a problem with the chassis rails.

The best person to ask is probably Lee Boreham (LeeBee), as he has greater knowledge of these motors than me.

Cheers

Took the car back to Peninsula today, having had a weekend 'playing'. Bonnet mods on the priority list!

Cheers
