That must be why you see a reduction in pressure as it gets hotter

unless i am mistaken all mobil 1 is 0/40w, other than the motorsport one which is even more expensive and is 15/50w
the thinness is what helps it lubricate on start up and is not a bad thing, unless you have a tired old engine which might burn it.

_This has been discussed before and I'm sure that the recommendation was to not use the 0w/40 grade. In fact I'm sure my handbook says 10w/40. I thought the m/sport was 15w/40 - but may be 15w/50, all I know is that it's better for the ancient Rover designed oilways, and pump etc.

My handbook (1999 Chim 450) and the metal plate under the bonnet (near the brake fluid res) just specifies Mobil 1 (the Mobil 1 logo) with no grade implied for after the first 6000 miles. Pre-6000 miles it does indeed specify different grades.
There is also a tag on the engine block near the dipstick that specifies 0w/40 grade. This is what was put in when I bought the car (from a dealer) and for the last 6000 miles I've only had to add 1l extra.
