Congratulations on the good news regarding the forthcoming little Tusser! Prepare for some changes to your life and priorities.
Best advice on selling your lovely Tuscan is to be realistic from the outset. Don't think just because it's your car and Tiffany Dell has sat in it that normal market forces don't apply - if you put it on at a silly price to start with and then have to reduce it several times no-one will take you seriously.
Look at sales prices (not advert prices) over the past six months - from my observations a 2000 Tuscan without a recent factory engine rebuild may be worth between £15K and £17K at present. If not sold by the end of July the price will drop by at least another grand or two.
You can increase your chances of a sale by providing a TVR warranty. If I was you I would shell out for a warranty, get it serviced, MOTed, include the TUS registration, etc. and put it up on PH Classifieds for £17.5K. That way you will probably get a quick and painless sale for around £17K.

Just how do you have 'in-depth observations' of the actual prices achieved by cars that have been sold. Sold and bought any Tuscans have we? Given your past postings I'd say not likely.

Re the Saab 9.5 Aero, if you think TVRs depreciate heavily, wait until you have a 9.5.
My last one cost me a fortune, particularly if you do highish mileages. Servicing is very expensive too.
Had Saabs for years as my daily sensible car but as the servicing costs kept increasing, I switched over to Audi. Servicing on my A4 Avant is around every 20K (predictive servicing) and the costs are quite a bit cheaper than my 9.5 was.
Having said that, if the running costs of the Saab were the same as Audi, I would plump for the 9.5 Aero Estate. A superb and distictive looking motor.

I didn't query your pricing information but merely where your 'observations' came from. I don't believe after your last PH exeprience that you've ever owned a Tuscan (or intend to) so just where does this 'unbiased experience' come from.
I totally agree that 'most' owners overvalue their cars, but I'm sure some on PH have recently sold yr2000 Tuscans and can provide 'real experience'

You can reverse the argument by looking at the number of ca. 5 year old examples that can be picked up for absolutely peanuts, giving a lot of performance, practicality and safety plus just as repectable an image for a fraction of what you pay for the German default choice stuff - I mean, I can't for the life of me understand why someone would pay £9K for a four year old A3 (basically a Golf IV in a slightly different body, so nowt special in any department) when a 9-3 of similar age is half that at best. Re: servicing - seek a good independant specialist and you'll be laughing.

I know Jigsy does come out with some crap regarding TVR's and I do think he also really dislikes them, so we really cant take him too serious however, 17k for a 2000 Tuscan seems reasonable. Personally, when I was looking to purchase a second hand Tamora I looked in 'Top Marques' magazine - 30 quid a throw tho.
With the extended SAAB warranty, can you claim for the hand yearly yellow paint and new all round reflectors?

Right - I am going to ask for this thread to be closed. I can't be doing with the way things degenerate around here and its gone right off topic. My original question was directed towards asking the experience of those who have sold their Tuscans as to the medium they found most effective - that was it.
