The catch on my glovebox doesn't seem to work and the damn thing bangs open and shut on a bumpy road.

Any suggestions for a quick fix... Velcro perhaps?

Where's that pic of the wooden block upgrade for the glove box?

I installed the Velcro upgrade over 2 years ago and it has been perfect. (I was given replacement catches but as the velcro has worked so well, I haven't bothered changing it).

I cured mine with an instant mod, which doesn't sound sensible at first.

Loosen the screw holding the washer 1/2 a turn or so...

this allows the washer to move slightly and fully contact the magnet, because when tight it is at a slight angle to the magnet so only touches one edge of it. When the lid closes, despite being 'loose' it is held still with no rattle by the magnet.

Loosening the screw worked a treat on mine too. Makes a tighter magnetic fit.

It's FIXED!

Drivestyle in Harrogate sorted the problem by reversing the spring on the lid. It's brilliant now, stays tight shut whatever the road conditions. Won't stay open but who cares... just watch those fingers, it has a nasty bite now.

Mine is now like that, like a crocodile to unsuspecting passengers. Never comes upon involuntarily though.

Can't get mine to shut properly

But it doubles quite well as an acceler-o-meter

I put a much stronger magnet in there which holds the thing firmly shut!

Was most embarassing before when the thing flew open on acceleration!

Had same problem in my T350 but cured it by undoing the screw in the lid slightly which improved contact with the magnet. To prove TVR take feedback on board and fix things, the one on the Sagaris is now fitted with stronger springs which means it doesn't flap open. You do however need a tool to lever it open to get at your wine gums and then have to keep you fingers out of the way when it slams shut again - blimey Granville, that were close.
