SP alloy wheels, iinitial comments after a week

That's good reading.
I was reading in Evo how the new version of the Bentley has shaved 1kg off each 19" wheel and they were impressed how much better it felt. That's on a 2.4t car so I can imagine the benefit of saving 3kg a corner on a (lot!) lighter car.
Off to check my piggybank....

Yes, it is the handling that I was/am most surprised with, much improved - steering is great
(have to do the hardr driving by myself, as Chan screams very loudly when taking corners!
)

They do make a difference to the overall performance of the car, especially when driving ‘hard’, more so than I initially thought (always a bit cynical about this sort of thing!)
Yeah, it surprised me too.
Last year I drove the 'original Tamora SP' and was amazed by the difference, a combination of the weight saving and correcting geometry. At the end of last year SP asked me for feedback on prototype wheels on my Cerbera. The difference on the Cerbera was noticeable within yards in the lightness and precision at the steering wheel. I've heard many times over the years about the importance of 'unsprung weight' blah blah but always perceived it as esoteric and irrelevant to daily hooning. Wrong! 25% off the wheel weight is a BIG difference. When I met Joolz last week, he said that every KG of unsprung weight that is reduced is 'equivalent' to three times that weight taken out of the car so a set of SP12s is 'equivalent' to about 36kg (or half a passenger).
Chris: your car has the wider 265 tyres (upgrade) on the rear which look the nuts IMO. They were really noticeable following your car to Gaydon - it looked tough!
