Insurance right off 911 - how much to save?
Discussion
Say you've got two cars, both 3.3 Turbo 2's of the same year and approximate mileage, both in 'good' colours (ie not pink or spearmint!)... one is in good all round condition, legit, serviced and up for £25k.
How much cheaper would the other car have to be if it was a category D, requiring a new nearside rear wing, partial respray and a set of decent wheels, to make it a worthwhile proposition?
An insurance job doesn't have a stigma for me, i've had them before and I'm not too fussed about the resale as it would more than likely be a long term car.

Rule of thumb is that Cat D knocks c20% off normal price, then factor in the repair cost. However, the mere fact that it is on the register will be a bug bear come re-sale time. I have had one, and would have another, but only if the price was extremely attractive to off-set the hassle factor later.
