Stone chips touch-up
Discussion
Following an excellent blast to Le Mans and back, my 328 GTS has picked a couple of stone chips on the front end. Possibly a French moped mown down in the excitement. However the Ferrari main dealers tell me that Ferrari do not do touch-up paint sticks. I'm sure I'm not the only person not wanting to respray the front of my car for a few chips.
Any ideas for chiaro blue paint?

They may not do touch ups, but they do have specialist sprayers for accident repairs. Ask them who does there paintwork repairs and then get in touch with them. It is highly likely that they have "surplus" paint from a previous job and will be willing to put some in a small pot/jar for you. then all your have to do is undertake the tricky job of finding a authentic Ferrari paintbrush!
Got the same probem with my Murcielago - you can't avoid the "gravel rash" ! so you'd think Lambo would do "touch-ups" but OH NO, got to take it to the body shop! - So I thought I'd be clever!! The new Ford ST Focus - they do a Bright Orange right?....called "Electric Orange".....really similar to Lambo Arncio Atlas - so I breeze into the local Ford dealer - "one electric Orange touchup please!"......"sorry Guv acccording to the guys at Ford Technical this here's a special colour, coz it's such an exotic Focus like, and we ain't doin a touch-up, gonna have to take your focus to a specialist body shop!!" So it's not just Ferrari and Lambo owners who have to suffer!!!
Guys
There is no such thing as a "standard" Ferrari / Maserati colour and the same probably goes for Lambo too - Batches can vary considerably. As an example, Ferrari used 40+ shades of Rosso Chiarro!!
Fortunately, there is a very easy solution - Get the exact paint code for your car (check the manufacturers plate under the hood and if that fails, call the manufacturer direct with your VIN and get it that way). Then simply go to your local auto paint supply shop and give them the code - 1 litre is usually the min qty but some will even put some into an aerosol for you and don't forget some good quality thinners. Better still, use a modellers airbrush with a fine adjustable tip as I do.
Hope this helps

I did likewise but they now nolonger have their own bodyshop and use an outside company. However they gave me their number and called them. A very helpful man explained they do not do small amounts and as the paint is now waterbased it would not keep anyway. Halfords sounds a good bet from above.
For what it's worth, I've done 9000 miles now and there's not a single mark on the front of my car.
The reason is I had the car fitted with the 3M protection film from day 1. It works very well.
Driving up from Wycombe to Gaydon, my number plate got clobbered but there's no sign of damage anywhere else.
Budget for around £600 for front valance, bumper, front wings, sill and mirrors. I used Paintsheild, but there are a couple of others.
It's a lot of money intially but it'll work out best in the long run.
Just a thought.
