Thanks to V8NUT and his 3 friends leaving Snett yester. You popping and banging your way along the A11 was the highlight of an awful weekend for the C33 team.

It was my first race meet for a few years and if it helps any, I had a great time

looking forward to the next one. Although it will probably be Brands in September, I think.

Yup that was the group!!!
For those who don't know, I didn't fill me coolant properly and ended up with an air lock in my radiator which sent temperatures up to 115oC, cooking the engine and popping the head gasket. Come saturday morning we fired it up and realised I was only on a few cylinders and then to try and change the gasket (just the N/S cos we wre at the track), despite taking the head off in under an hour, then charging into Norwich to get a new gasket, getting everything back together. When we were being called to the holding area, the plenum box was just being bolted. If we'd had 20mins more I could of got the car running, but we didn't. Ho hum thats racing.

I think I'm going to put my foot on the ball for a moment, and take a look around to make sure I can make a decent showing for the final few rounds. Next year I'm going to keep the car pretty much as it is but just refine things, it won't win me much silverware, but I'll be able to be reliable.

I was the red Griff

I had a great afternoon out....... having never been to a race meet before and not knowing what to expect ..... I thought it was FAB.

A big thanks to Derek (Absolute Shocks) for inviting me along to see the S/Cerbera on the track...

I was watching you lot change the head gasket.... I wish garages worked as fast as you lot it would save me a fortune in labour costs

And yes we had a spirited drive home....... BBQing the front of Focus's cerb with 1ft long flames out of my exhausts

It's amazing what can happen when you're under pressure!!! I know the car inside out, my dad can also wield a spanner, Lex knows which spanners to fetch. The other girl there was a friend from uni who's an OT and knows about as much the workings of a car as I do brain surgery and her dad has done bits of car servicing in the past! Between us we almost did the impossible.

Yesterday we unloaded the Disco and that was about it, we need to do a compression test on all cylinders to see if the other bank has gone, I've a feeling it has judging by the state of a couple of the sparkplugs that came out, also want to do a comp. test on the replaced cylinder head to see if that needs doing 'properly'. WCS is block and heads need skimming.

Just done a compression test on all eight cylinders, and the readings are healthy indeed significantly up on the last ones I did which hopefully means the rings have finally bedded! So I'm going to finish off the job, fire it up and see how things go, and maybe do another test once a couple of heat cycles have gone through. All being well I'm good for Rockingham.
