ECU/Rear light connection

I have got the software to connect the laptop up to the ECU and have been told to cut the rear light plug off, to use as the connection to the ECU plug as they are the same due to mine been the 3 pin plug on the ECU, well my rear light plug is different to the one on the ECU, what next???

The Laptop connects to the ECU (In the passenger footwell) with a standard serial cable. (You have to remove the cover of the ECU)

Yeh, nobody seems to be forthcoming with the S6 software at the mo, but it is out there!
