Protech Shocks

Dear all, had the beast checked out the other week, the only thing was the front shocks and the engine needing a tune, just got a full set of protech shocks, my front ones had gone so I thought that I'd replace the lot, got it booked in next week, plus a full service, can't wait to get it back, people say that it will be like driving a new car. Anyone got any comments or sugestions for the Protech Shocks.

Bloody hell that’s one hell of a thread, Can’t agree that the Protechs are shit personally.
Yeah they are not Nitron’s or Ohlins, which incidently I am interested in if Jules can get me a kit sorted.(Ohlins that is)
My car ran a 12.4 at Santa pod, Cyclone ran a 11.98, we are both sporting Proteches, so to suggest they are crap is obviously rubbish.
As I said they are not Ohlins, though they are far better than the standard stuff.

- most Cerb owners would be hard pushed to tell the difference between newly fitted std suspension, Gaz, Avo or Protech, Ohlin, Nitron, Intrax on your average roads, unless that is you can drive your Cerb to Schumacher standards, however, a good Cerb driver would be able to tell the difference on the track where you can push your car much, much harder, almost to it's limits.

The most important aspect to consider is that you get them fitted and set-up by someone who knows what they are doing, there have been too many stories recently from Cerb owners who've had sub-standard work done, this includes suspension fitting and set-up, clutches and rebuilds. Make your choice wisely.

I would have thought the opposite be true. For the road a good pair of shocks would have the ability to hold the road and deal with the potholes.
Whereas on the track youd be better off with no springs at all and almost a solid bar connecting the body to the wheel?

Why have you got it in for Surrey? Its a nice county, full of nice people. Granted they don't seem to know one end of a damper from another, but they can make spiffing tea and muffins there
