Hi guys, time to buy new rubber. Currently running marshalls on 225x50x16 on S2 alloys on the rear of my 944 Lux. It has the spacers on so the wheels look and fit okay. Is 225 the max width for these wheels? Whats a good sticky brand, don't like the ones on now to hard no wet grip at all. Would like to push it in the bends in thery, thinking about Yokahamma. heard they don't last lomg but do stick to the road. What have you guys used in the past to maximum gripping effect? Thanks. BTW Had it serviced at Northway - excellent job, handles much better with new dampers

Falken Fk451's - good budget performance tyre, available here: www.blackcircles.com/

I'd stick with 225/50 on the back, the turbo had optional 225/50 front 245/45 rear, the S2 has 205/55 on the front, gives better steering feel imo

I have recently fitted Federal Super steel 595s to mine.
Despite being cheap they are miles better than the Avons
that I took off. Good grip wet or dry and much quieter.
I couldn't be more pleased. Mine are 255/40/17s btw.

I used to run Goodyear F1s on my old 944S with 16" D90s in the stock 205/55 & 225/50 sizes. Great tyres.

I've just put a pair of falken FK452's on my S2, early days yet but they seem very grippy, got them from here:-

www.camskill.co.uk

Cheaper than any other internet site I could find, £57rear and £53 front, thats delivered.

Thanks guys, that will save me some pennies. I was going to stomp up £102 each for Bridgestone SO2 N3 (Porsche) from the www.blackcircles.com site Tread pattern looks the same and nearly half the price - cheers
