The GSXR is a good bike. (If you like the looks!)
The CBR of that year is a bit bland for me...

If i was to get an R6 i'd get a 99-02 model. I was reading a recent review of the R6 and they softened it around the '03 mark.

GSXR - It is simply a better bike to ride. Take a look at the reviews on MCN:

GSXR. It seems to be the slightly better handling in road guise. I always felt it was more willing to oversteer than understeer and thus gave me more confidence.
