Morning all.

Took the T350 back to the garage on Saturday briefly (I have now posted a picture on my profile which I am very proud of ) to get the bonnet release catch tightened up. While I was there I asked abut servicing. I was initially told when buying the car it was four hundred per service. What I wasn’t aware of was every 12,000 miles it needed the Tappets checked, measured and re-sat. I really don’t mind paying the extra money if it’s going to keep her in A1 order, but is this really the case? Do they all require this work? If so, what is the approx price? He wouldn’t \ couldn’t quote me but it sounds like a seriously expensive job.

Thanks in advance guys.

p.s – weekend driving was amazing, even my pregnant girlfriend thinks it great! She’s obviously less of a woss than my brother

Had my tappets adjusted at David Hendry which cost me £250 extra on top of the 12000 mile service cost. It is recommended that you have the tappets adjusted every 12000 miles.

Normall service being 400 pounds plus the 250, so I’m assuming it was 650 inc the VAT and all other such good things.

Yep, basic cost is about £650. I had one or two things done outside of the normal 12000 mile service, which added to the basic cost of the service and tappet adjustment.

12k service usually costs around 1,000 pounds. Definitely needs doing to keep the engine in tip top condition. They do extra work on top of the 6k service including replacing gearbox/diff/brake fluids.

My 12K service cost £1260 but that included replacement of a leaking front damper.
