For the past couple of weeks when I go to START > SHUT DOWN, it takes about 2 mins for the Shut Down dialogue box to appear.
This occurs whether I'm working from home using home wireless & VPN or in the office on the LAN.

Anyone had this happen before.
Did you find a solution ?

Cheers

What's the OS? Is there anything in the event viewer?

Windows XP (SP2)

Don't know what an Event viewer is ?
If you mean Processes in Task Manager, I wouldn't have a clue as to whether something was normal or not.

Will do a page grab and post up shortly

This may take a little time

Event viewer... Start > Run > eventvwr

The system one may contain something to home in on..

Have you run a full spyware scan with spybot or similar?

Absolutely !
I can get Excel to do virtually anything but beyond that I'm clueless.

Right, Event View>System shows ERRORs at the times I;ve tried to shut down.

This is the message when I go into the error . .

The server {9B1F122C-2982-4E91-AA8B-E071D54F2A4D} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

Thanks for your time btw

Looks like it's either a Windows update problem or a piece of software called Groove...

Have a look at this first.
