Anyone cheered up the interior of their 968 (or 944) with some tasteful alloy accessories...or by having certain bits (eg dash) painted (eg artic silver etc)?

Has anyone got any pictures or recomendations of who to do this?

Thanks for nay help.

hmmm.... "should the words "tasteful" and "alloy accesories" appear in the same sentence - discuss"

personally if i want to brighten the interior i just take the roof down and let the sun shine in but each to his own. I think porscheshop do a range of alloy bits and bobs if thats the bag youre into. The interior is, lets face it, dated - but at least consistent. a similar word, with different connotations, might be "authentic". IMHO ultramodern alloy extras just seems to make the 80's styling of the rest of it more glaringly obvious

That's way i said tasteful...if possible and asked for piccies to see if tasteful is possible.

The only thing i thing is ad in the interior is the strip that runs across the dash where the switchgear and heater controls are...never liked that bit.
I'd be tempted to add a bti of color there (a bit like fiat coupe..but slightly more subtle). But not before seeing one already done.

At the end of the day i suppose i never felt the need to do it to my 944 cab, so maybe shoudl keep the pennies inmy pocket.

The best advice for a dated interior ... keep it clean, replace any broken bits with stock items and enjoy it.

It suits the rest of the car, it's in keeping with the style and it doesn't (IMHO) look too bad either. Just enjoy it (and if that's too difficult, look out of the windows instead.)

Am I alone in preferring the early 944 dash?

No I prefer the early dash too, its those cute little binnacles and the wedginess of it all I love!

But then again I think the 911 Dash is ergonomically perfect for me too, so I must be strange as everyone else seems to think it is a mess.

I saw one for the first time 'in the tin' at a TIPEC meeting a couple of weeks ago. They didn't look that bad at all. Not sure that I prefer them, but then I am not sure that I prefer the later ones either ...
