996 jacking points?
Discussion
Can anyone tell me where you are supposed to jack up a 996 using a floor/trolley jack?
My old 951 had a section in the handbook showing the jacking points in the cills for the vehicle scissor jack and the strong points on the underbody for a floor jack. No mention of the latter in the 996 handbook (unless I am being really dim and have missed it).
Thanks

Looks as if you can only jack on the scissor jack points. Presumably your OPC has special fittings that spigot into the holes when put onto a vehicle lift.
How do you jack up your vehicle? Do you put the cup of the trolly jack under the jack point (risk crushing/catching the sill) or use timber packing or is there some gismo?

I just put the cup of my trolley jack under the regular jacking point and it fits a treat. As I take the weight on the jack I give it a fairly hard tug to make sure the car is properly seated before I raise it any distance. I'm always much happier when the axle stand goes under though

Be very careful as you may catch the air con pipework running by the jacking points - I think porsche shop or similar have adaptors that ensure a perfect fit.
