Ken Livingstone will make hell of driving in London

the most illiberal, fascist project to tax you and your car to death
London is going to become a "no-fly" zone if these politicians are left to "govern"
They know that we need our cars and they are going to tax and tax and tax as much as they can.
Satellite tracking to charge by mile is the worst thing ever because it will be use to calculate speed immediately. It will become also in the hands of the leftists a tool to make us "pay by the mile and as by your earnings"

'a device on your dashboard' - that will stay there then! wont get nicked for someone else to drive on your account at all.
'Pre-paid' account (like a dart tag I guess), no more fines for forgetting to pay - there wont need to be for all the interest they will be making on all our money in a pre paid account
It sucks, the gov sucks, the country sucks - time to leave I say. maybe when the gov are only paying the bums and everyone that works are no longer here paying the bills then maybe they will work it out but I doubt it

Clicked on the link and and advert for a Land Rover popped up!aston67 said:
It does work fine, but the Times website happened to be advertising Land Rovers in a pop-up on top of the article, is what I meant
With the 7/7 anniversary approaching, I wish that those cowardly bastards had managed to take the frog-faced gobshite dwarf with them and spared the life of one of the decent, hard-working people forced to travel to work on the miasma of B.O. and bad breath that is public transport...
Get firefox, it stops popups unless allowed
"top rate of at least £20" Guess time to stop shopping in this zone, car parking in central london almost as bad
"Cars would be fitted with satellite tracking devices and be charged for each mile they travelled, with the tolls varying from 15p to 60p a kilometre according to the level of congestion"
Sat nav not known to work very well in cities due to line of site to the sats being blocked by buildings, how will this tracker be accurate and a strip of metal tape on the aerial might make it less effective

Not only has Livingscum made it hell for the motorist driving in London, but it seems he has also made it hell for the bus user.
According to an article in the Evening Standard, it is now quicker to walk than use the bus in inner London.
And before anyone starts on about the standard of reporting by the ES, TFL's own timetables were used as a reference for timing the buses.

Saturday during the England football match we came back from Silverstone to London via the M40 (the M1 was a total gridlock under the sun) to reach Canary Wharf.
Going through London with little traffic I thought should be a doddle!
nope. The roads were in a condition similar to the the one during WWII when London was under the fire of V2s. Road works at every corner.
and no one working of course
big massive holes near traffic lights, speed cameras at 30 mph, buses slowing down... there were little or no cars around and yet it was quite stressfull
There should be a law that once a road work is started, it should be finished as well without stopping to minimize inconvenience.
common sense? right

Livingston announced he hates cars and wants them all banned, so how in hells name is allowed to pass judgement on people just because he has a personal dislike of a section of society?
To me it is no different from saying I hate trains and want them all banned, then being allowed to exercise that opinion with impunity

livingston should look at houses and start taxing pollution from them if all he is worried about is pollution! houses dump so much more CO2 into the air than cars ever will! I am sure he lives in a fien big house which is not exactly efficient!
but it is all about tax and revenue so like beer, cigs, and other such luxuries it is an easy target. many would argue that a car is a necessity and should be exempt from such taxes as the govt has provided fcuk all in the way of decent public transport for years! I live in SW london and it is still quite shockign though the busses are getting better. but the buses are full of odd balls, single mums and screaming kids!
oh yeah that is where the other fcukign huge chunk of my tax goes along with the immigrants who get free bus passes! kants!
driving in london is a mare and always will be. it is a city. anyone been to mexico city or beijing or delhi! now that is an experience if you think we have it bad!!

I have to say, being in Dubai for nigh on three years, that I doubt I'll go back to the UK. This is a shame as I do miss it but the system is just screwing honest, hardworking people into the ground.
If I do go back, it'll be on my terms where I have no obligation to the government whatsoever.

Whaddya mean "WILL MAKE HELL OF DRIVING IN LONDON"? He already has!
Just read a piece in the Evening Standard on how 'essential water works' mean that large areas of central London will be subject to years of disruption and road closures as they replace mains pipes etc. Things are pretty poor in town as it is!

That would be the private water company trying to replace old piping. Nothing to do with Livingstone.
