Just booked myself onto a track evening at Silverstone on the 19th July through Gold Track. The noise limit has been set at 98db @ 0.5 metres @ 45 degrees and ¾ max rpm. Am I going to have any noise problems with a 2002 C4S with a factory exhaust?

Same question for a 993 Targa with a standard exhaust.

Thanks

BTW - Anyone else going to be there?

There will be variables at play so difficult to tell, but all Porsches with standard exhausts should be safer and well under 100dbs. It's the aftermarket/racing or cat-free systems that can cause problems.

If it is a factory switchable sports exhaust it will only make 98db static in quiet mode at no more than 3800 RPM any more revs and my old C4S went over. Mabey mine was a little loud?
A Good tip was to make sure the engin is hot this always makes it run quieter also lie like hell when the marshal asks your rev limit!

Its not a sports exhaust, just the exhaust that comes with the standard C4S.
