I reckon about 24 for a Tam; but very sensible. 28 - 30 on a motorway run not thrashing but cruising about 80 - 85.

Personally never more that about 24mpg when taking it easy on the motorway.
More like 20mpg around town....

Well, I started with a full tank, reset trip meter before and after on a 260 mile run, and refilled at the end of the trip. So I'm pretty sure of the figures.

Mind you, that is the best I've done.

I average 22-24 in mixed driving. 26-27 on a motorway run. TVRs only drink gogo juice when you give them some welly through the revs. Crusiing in top on the motorway they're a lentil munchers delight (OK, not quite).

On a side note, I was in Utah on Monday - normal unleaded was $2.60 per US Gallon (3.7 litres). Now in California its $3.60. Massive difference in petrol prices. At least the UK is consistently expensive due to taxation (hang on, thats a bad thing )

MPG? What's that?

While EngineSpins = True
Do
While FuelWarning is False
and EngineSpins is True
Do
Hoon away
End While
Select Location
From ServiceStations
Where FuelType = 98Ron
and Distance <= 20 Miles
Drive to Location
If
Location Reached
Then
FuelRequired = FuelGuage + 5
Open FuelFiller
Remove Spillage
While PumpDisplay < FuelRequired
Do
Press FuelNozzle
While FuelNozzle delivers Fuel
Do
Smile and look cool
End While
If
PumpDisplay < FuelRequired
Then
Look embarrassed
End If
End While
Remove Spillage
End If
End While
Call BreakDown

Sorry, been doing some work....

Very interesting. I lived there for 6 yrs, and back in 2000 or so, you could easily find a (US) gallon around the $1.50 mark - and below - in certain southern states. CA has always been significantly more expensive - partially because the refining requirements/emissions controls are more stringent in that state.
