Hi All,
I am in the process of selling my TVR 4.0ltr Chimeara, having been frustrated by traffic on my daily commute I am afraid it was not the right car for the job.
I did consider another sportsbike but considering I have a young family and my bad riding skills I may give the bike a miss.
In terms of performance and reliability how does a VX220T measure up to the Chimp? Any one owned both or driven back to back?
I like the look of the car and as I am not a badge snob and having read rave reviews from Car, Top Gear etc. would prefer one over a Lotus Elise.
Any views or info would be much appreciated.

Regards

Doug

I use a VXT as a daily driver. In the winter it's a pain, the heater doesn't. In the summer it's wonderful. 130 miles a day means 32mpg (even with heavy stop start and then serious blatting) matters.

Service at main dealer half what I pay for the family Renault.

200 mile range tank a pain. Lots of wind noise, mediocre stereo.

Awesome handling. Big grin most of the time. Will lose pretty much anything on a route with lots of empty roundabouts.

Thanks for your reply, I have a boring car as well so in the depths of winter I would use that.
Although the Tiv sounds and looks fast on winding B roads the new crop of hot hatches can show up the handling, but I suppose it is designed as a traditional rear wheel drive british sports car.
Running costs sound reasonable for the VXT, I tend to budget approx. £1500 for garage bills and servicing only on the Tiv.
Having a degree of build quality would be nice, but may miss the V8.
