can anyone help me out and tell me where i can get real advice about avoiding paying parking fines? I'm hacked off because I've had 4 in the past month, and I'm sure that the wardens slapped the fine on my car when I'd only been parked up 5 mins

I feel like finding the wardens that gave me the fines and tying them to the back of my car and driving round the ring road in Reading for a few hours

cheers

if the ticket was genuinely unjust the only thing you can do is appeal to your local council, if they reject it it then goes to the independent national parking adjudicator, and their decision is final, similar thing happened to me, the council told me where to go but the npas went in my favour and the ticket was invalid, you can only go ahead with an appeal if youve got pretty strong evidence in your favour, in my case it was inadequate signage which i had to supply pics of.

i just got this from a mate i think i am gonna join up - www.fcukfines.com - it's my only hope cos I have no choice but to take risks with getting parking fines because of the job I do! The wardens where I deliver are over zelous which doesn't help

Whereabouts in Reading have you been getting the tickets?

Glad to say I don't know the area well - I tend to avoid it

In my experience Reading Council are VERY slack about their signage - there's currently a bay on Kings Road which doesn't have a plate at one end

On Castle Street they are now changing all the signs due to the fact they aren't legal (very confusing information on them). Any fines from there can be withdrawn by a careful complaint.

My old Street in Caversham didn't have a continuous double yellow (far from it) and no T on the end either.

Best to check on the legality of all the places you've been stung

If you're doing "drop-off" loading etc, then you can have some time free can't you? Do you have records proving you were delivering?

yeah I've got to get to grips with it, starting to be a drain on funds that would otherwise be well spent on alcohol.

i'm joining that fcukfines site anyway because I know there are going to be times when I can't keep an eye on my car all the time and there won't be any sneaky free places to park. If it gives me a slight edge on the wardens, it'll be worth it!

If parking is so crutial to your job and the state of the nation speak to the LA and see if they are prepared to grant you some dispensation.

That is difficult in bournemouth where the council have been fining people when certain roads have not got a enforcement order covering them. They were quite happy to fine drivers who were parking legally.
It's a bit like saying "keep below the speed limit and you will not get a ticket" History of the Dorset Camera Partnership shows this is not a true statement.
