JZ Machtech. They might be pricy but I trust them, they are very well established and they're a reasonable distance from where I live.

Andy Fearns at Weltmeister has done a couple of PHer's 964RSs on here. Ferg and Francisb. Frank will tell you how it's been running if he can stop grinning long enough. Melv's car may even have been tickled there recently? Not sure. Where's Merkin Man when you need him?

Andy did a cracking job on my car, and even though I specced up lots of parts to hopefully allow the top end a quick buzz w/o doing any further valve bouncing damage, he did call me to let me know that the new owner had also mis shifted and done the top end in again....

If you need new bits, I would recommend EBS racing in the states, as they are able to supply titantium components/uprated springs/valves for less than the cost of standard kit in the UK, even after duty and VAT.... www.ebsracing.com I upgraded to ARP rod bolts as a precautionary measure and had Andy split the crank cases and check the crank at the same time. You may want to consider lockwiring the oil pump bolts as well if you go down this route.

Perhaps I should warn you all to plan in advance to negotiate a better rate with your solicitor in view of the fortcoming follow up article in August Total 911 magazine featuring a pretty exhaustive (no pun intended) 993 performance comparison. Included in the test were standard, 9m+2 (billet head/cam/cat/remap) 993's, a GT3 mk1 (for reference) and my Speed Championship leading 993RSR. The article will feature power pulls of each car from our dyno and 0-10/20/30/..../150mph acceleration results from a test we arranged at Elvington airfield (York) measured on an Race Technology AX22 satelite datalogger.

Suffice to say that the acceleration tests support the power comparisons, but to whet the appetite a little more, just keep a lookout for the sub 9.0sec 0-100 time of a certain yellow 993RS.....

Colin,
Bit off topic since you mentioned the GT3... any word yet on the "GT3 special"?
