Rear Diff Oil Seals

I've got a Pre Cat 4.0 and just noticed its started dropping a little oil from the rear diff. Can the seals be obtained easily and how long would it take to get them changed? Its not loosing masses of oil but want to get it sorted sooner rather than later...

If its the GKN diff, then they are not easy to change because of the removal of the drive couplings.

Just keep topping it up, then you know your oil is good?

Hi,
I heard that the drive shaft oil seals could be replaced with the diff insitu. Think I read that TVR dealers had a tool to remove the circlips on the diff to allow this. There are only 6 bolts aside to remove the drive shafts from the diff - I did not find that too difficult. I assume suitable seals are still available. Could just drop the diff and give it a full overhaul?

Any idea of the best place I can get the correct Dif Oil? The diff itself is in great condition. Yes its GKN Diff, and as far as i can tell its very quiet, does'nt seem to whine or make any other noises which is always a good sign. Just noticed its started dripping. Have got it booked in to be looked at in a couple of weeks time..

Removing the driveshafts is easy, removing the couplings is not, a suitable puller would be needed.

The seals are a standard size and are available from BSL or similar.

I get my oil from Trackcar Solutions.

The best stuff seems to be REDLINE heavyweight, you can get it online from demon tweeks, its about 14 quid a quart from memory. Just had 2 ltrs put in mine and all good as gold - mind you I did have a brand new diff fitted at the same time......
