Hi All,
I have normal dial up at home. Why is it that sometimes when i connect to the internet, i can connect to my provider OK (tiscali) but when i try to open a site, say for example, google, the page just hangs and eventually the 'Unable to Display Page' appears. What seems to remedy this is logging off and on again (sometimes need to do this lots of times or i just give up) or even turning the PC off at the power, and on again, then starting all over again often remedies things.

Now i know pages are sometimes down or just too busy, but this is happening a lot now on pages like google, and any other page i try will just not open - it's not just the one. To complicate matters further, PH will usually open 9 times out of 10 when nothing else does . Any ideas/remedies?

Sounds like youmay have a dodgy DNS. Tried configuring some alternative DNS servers and see if that helps?
