Very close to buying a 355 Spider for a summer car. HOWEVER I don't think I have ever had such a mixed opinion about a car!!

I have spoken to a number of friends and dealers who either love or hate the car, there does not seem to be a middle ground. All who love the car tend to hate the 360 and all who hate the car, love the 360!

I don't think it has really changed my mind, but its difficult, when one person says they are "reasonably" bullet proof for such a car and the other says they are an absolute nightmare and shouldn't be touched!

I realise they are not the fastest of Ferrari's, but that does not really bother me. Any advise from owners of both would be interesting.

Thanks
Rob

Reliability wise I'm not convinced a 360 is light years ahead of the 355, accounting for the relative ages of the cars.

The hood can be a pain to fix if it goes wrong, but other than that they're more robust than people givem them credit for.

Looks wise, it's your call, and only you can make the call.

That said, I'm a GTB man myself. Prettier and less to go wrong, plus less flexible.

Plenty of owners on fcars.co.uk who'll be more than happy to proffer an opinion.

355/360 are light & day . Can't stress enough that 355 spider hood needs to be thoroughly tested.

Had my 355 GTS since Feb and covered 2000 miles.

Never missed a beat and haven't had to spend a penny on it, other than fuel.

I read all the reviews and reports and came to the conclusion that the more I read the more it may put me off, so went with my heart and bought one anyway.

Avoid the tatty, lashed up ones and you won't have a problem, other than keeping the smile off your face.

Haven't had any experience off the 360 but have been told the handling is a little bit more sensative. If I could afford one though, I'd still buy one.

Good luck in your search.

PS. I'm in the trade (in a small way) and my car is being advertised in the classifieds.

I used to own a 355 Spider and it was pretty reliable, just a couple of small niggles and one was with the roof. I fixed it myself saving a few hundreds pounds a dealer would have charged to change a micro switch.

I've just sold my 360 and have to say it will be missed. I loved my 355 but the 360 is just so much better. I agree that the 355 is a better looking car but apart from that on every other level the 360 is far superior.

My 360 never missed beat and it was so much quicker than a 355, the power was just more usable.

Bound to get a lot of people disagreeing with me but I don't know many owners who have owned both and gone back to a 355.

If you've got the cash get a 360. You won't regret.
