I'm not so keen, I prefer the lines of the 'standard' model, and the price (£20K) would put me right off....

I'm with Iguana on this. You could get a GTS for a lot less.

For that money, this guy is urinating into a strong southerly breeze.

It will probably go for 13k in the end.... to a nightclub owner from Southsea. Thank God it wasn't white, it might go on to make 14k!

All IMHO, by the way. Apologies to nightclub owners from Southsea and fans of convertible 928s.

Cheers
Domster

Its not even the price that puts me off, I wouldnt want it as a gift. Surely it only appeals to people called Gary who lives in a mock tudor house somewhere dull, or perhaps if you are called Peter Stringfellow.

The only practical use I can see for this monstosity is to take out the interior & burn it, rip out the engine and shoe horn it into my 944 and then use the car as a mobile skip.

ahh that feels better, breathe in, breathe out & relax and calm

If you’re considering a change of career… It’s the perfect car for selling narcotics or running ‘a string of ladies’!

Well i think it's gorgeous.

A nice bodykitted 928 with it's yummy glasshouse chopped right off and a set of original 80's cross spoke alloys.
Did you see the Ferrari-esque side srakes? And how fat do you think the arse looks now?
Sorry, i ... just can't ... hold it in any longer

Anyone who's read this month's 911+PW will have seen the article comparing late 80's 911 and late 80's 928. The 911 looks OLD, the 928 looks spaceship modern. Why? Well, IMHO, mainly because of the A/B pillar relationships and shape, as well as the silhouette of the car.
This convertible just looks cheesy.

Ahem, just IMHO, no offence to anyone, and if someone buys it i'd still like to see it in the flesh... i'll even bring my own brown paper bag.

I am fairly sure that was a conversion by Gemballa. I guess in the 80's when car taste hit a bit of a low it looked stunning. I certainly remember it cost a fortune. Now it is a hideous waste of what was once a great car - how times change !!
