Just picked up my first porsche today and can't belive i haven't bought one years ago. It's a gt2 in silver with 24000 miles on the clock. I have had some fast cars before but christ this is like being shot out of a catapult,The car has had a tubi exhaust fitted and sound superb but what i need to know is what pressures do you guys see on the boost gauge as in third i see 1.1 bar on the digital boost gauge. The reason for asking is i am wondering if the car has been chiped or not?.

Sounds high to me if you see this on a regular basis.

This threads seems to suggest that yours is modified :

I didn't see more than 0.8 bar until I changed the valves for the billet EVOMS ones. I now see 1.1bar quite regularly, it also feels a lot more responsive. The standard plastic bosch valves are like chocolate teapots.

....i'm thinking of making the move into a GT2, they have to be the performance bargain of the century at the moment.

It's been chipped alright. Had a 5 hour Revo free trial fitted to my GT2. It then indicated increased boost pressure up from 0.9 to 1.1. Whilst the car did feel quicker the difference between off boost to coming on boost was much more noticeable. It felt like there was more lag then bang. I found the car harder to drive as fast as the standard car when chipped as harder to keep the power down unless road straight. To much lag. Don't all these chip tuning jobs just increase the boost pressure to the detriment of longevity? Alan at Weltmeister did tell me that if I did go with the Revo tune my car would be set up on his rolling road which would remove the extreme on -off boost situation.

Henry, has your car had a performance exhaust fitted? mine has a Tubi and to be honest doesn't have any excessive lag you described. The sound of the exhaust on full hoot is superb.Since i've bought it i have been feeling like a dog with 2 dicks, a belly full of beer, and a street full of lamp posts.

Cwin, hi, yes I have a Europipe exhaust, (loud version). I think it's the absolute boll!!!! Quality, sound etc is great. (www.europipe.be). I had this fitted just before I tried the Revo chip and maybe there was a slight difference over the standard exhaust in terms of power. Biggest difference to the performance was of course with the chip done but the car really needs to be done on a rolling road to get the best from it I think? I am still undecided about having the work done as I am having a real problem keeping my license as it is!

That's how it seems to me, but I guess the million dollar question is how much detriment?
