Sorry if this seems a daft question, but I've never been to a gathering like this before and I'm wondering whether or not to bring the kids.

I don't want to bring them if it's a 'lad's only' type of day out and feel out of place.

I realise it's not a kid friendly place and I'm not expecting bouncy castles and things but my daughter (an innocent looking 4yr old) is quite a fan of speed. Bikes and rally cars are her thing surprisingly and race circuits keep her quite happy. I doubt my son will be impressed unless you can guarantee an appearance of the Cylons, Darth Vader or a flypast of X-wing fighters. He's 7 going on 13 (seems to have hit his teen years a bit early in the grumpiness stakes).

I don't want to say to the present Mrs Williams that no body else takes their wife/kids to these type of events only for her to come on here and see pics of cars and happy families when I suggested that she may want to stay home... (and it falls on her birthday).

I know she's really up for it as she just loves posing in the Yellow beastie.

As I said, apologies if the above appears daft.

Thanks

mose

Bring the familly along to enjoy the experience. Apart from meeting the other owners and their cars there will be plenty of racing to watch and when the kids get bored, which they will, pop them onto some of the small fairground rides!

^^^ What they said and as we will be parked infield, you could bring a picnic and set out on the grass.

My personal opinion whould be to take them, but my little girl is to little to bring (2) and my mrs will be just out of hospital with our 2nd little girl so probably not a good idea for me but would imagine the little bit older kids would love it.

Definitly bring them! I remember going to Grand Prix qualifying at Silverstone, I must have been 7 or 8 and loved every minute of it!

Thanks for the input.

The little lady is up for it so it looks as though she'll be coming and daughter is excited, just need to bully son into liking racing cars now..

Yeah it is funny how they say that... or how come we don't spend any time together?
Mind you, she is threatening of starting up a Corsa owners club... although, she got quiet teary the other day, cause she thought her car was a 1.4 and not a 1.2 as it turns out it is!
