Anyone want to swap there 'Standard' exhaust for my 'Sleeved' one? It sounds great but i have recently moved to a quiet neighbourhood and i feel guilty when I come home from work most nights @ 22:30 - 23:00!!! I know i'm going to miss the pops and bangs on over-run but feel it's the right thing to do??????

Please tell me i'm being a fool and should keep it?!?!?!

If you're really concerned just buy some silencers for the journey home...

Maybe get someone else to drive it and have a listen from a by-stander's perspective?... may not actually be as loud as you think (I know mine 'seems' louder in the car).

Also, I asked my neighbours to tell me if it was a problem after decatting etc and no-one has said anything other than 'that sounds great...' Even an old biddy at a sleepy country pub asked 'is that supposed to sound so good...?'

Same here, all neighbours love the sound, even next who's a copper but i just thought it would be a courteous thing to do!

I would love a beefy exhaust, but ONLY when I come into the neighbourhood and trough narrow streets. I it was too loud all the time I would loose my paranoia about the ticking noise.

Is there any way to silence the standard pipes temporarilly?

I am asking as I drive to work at 5am and a few people are getting peeved at being woken every morning.

Could I make a couple of bungs with say 1" diameter holes just for driving say 1 mile out of the town?

Would this actually help the noise (assuming a mild interference fit) and would it do any harm to the car?

If sucessful I could look at a straight through and cherry bombs but they are out of the question when the std exhaust is too loud

The standard exhaust is too loud!!! And the Chims are almost silent with the standard pipes!! The only thin you could do is fit trackday silencers for the mid week and take them out when you go for a hoon. Good thing I don't have to go out in the morning, Straight through cherry bombs on ACT manifolds + Pre Cat!!

It is so loud round my area and i come home late quite alot! - Also, when we go round various friends house they also worry about their neighbours when i leave which makes me feel embaressed! Don't get me wrong....i LOVE THE SOUND, with the pops and bangs etc but am just being courteous! And anyway, it's not like it ain't loud when standard!!!

Anyway, how r ya Oggs?

I go out at 5am most mornings (4.0 97 standard pipes) Nieghbours have said its ok as I drive real slow out of the road. They do complain about the Type R that goes out at 6 foot to the floor.
