Juat taken delivery of my new Chimera 4.0.

On the hottest day of the year so far, it provided the best ever drive back home from the Peak District to Mansfield. Not the fastest, but THE best.

Thanks to Stuart Davidson, who sold me his car, I hope I enjoy it as much as he has.

The first thing to address is the Mod-Wise twin speed fan kit, and the Mod-Wise hot start kit (are they the same thing, or two seperate kits?) - I'm not the worst with cars by a long way, but will I be up to fitting them?

Any ideas how long they take to fit, and how much they cost - I tried the Mod-Wise website but there seems to be a problem on it, plus Mod-Wise are closed until Monday.

Thanks

Congratulations on the new Chim. Enjoy while we have the weather.
The hot start kit is to solve problems with the starter motor.
This kit takes the current off the wiring loom from the ignition switch to the starter
soleniod which is not really up to the job.
Takes about an hour to fit.
The 2 speed fan kit uses a new temp sensor and switches one fan on early to prevent heat soak, followed by the second fan as the temperature rises.
This kit is a bit more involved in fitting but is do-able at home if your reasonably
competent with electrics.
The hot start kit is 20 quid or so, but not sure about the fan kit.
Hope that helps
Paul.

Not sure if you've seen but TVR Chimaera Pages has the following which may be of use to you:

- Fan Controller Install
- Hot-start Kit Install

The hot start kit is about 20 quid (as Paul said), I think the 'middle' fan kit is something like 80 but you'd need to check with David (from mod-wise).

I'd love to come to the Starkholmes meet - providing I'm off duty! Can you give me a clue as to time / date / location?

Date, this Tuesday (and every other Tuesday)
Time, 7pm ish onwards til about 10-11pm, chippy visit included.
Location; white lion pub at starkholmes, nr Matlock

if you go into the 'midlands' area, someone wil have a posted a link for the exact location (cos I'm useless at copy/pasting links).

I think loads are going to the classics meets in derby this week though.
