Rattle ! -- Head Shield Or Worse ?

Hi my 3R has developed a rattle that sounds like a heat shield kind a tinny noise, started just on odd occasions as drove over bumps, now getting worse like something is about to fall off ! it clearly will not keep until next servuice due...any ideas please.

Have you checked the infamous exhaust silncer box bracket - has it snapped?

Try to park two wheels on a really high cerb and get underneth. Then tap anlong all the areas of the undertray.

I had a rattle like this and it was just one little self tapping screw on the underside that was rattling and was about to fall out when I found it.

Good luck. Its a case of trial and error I'm afraid! Very annoying though.

Blimey, it seems the pesky exhaust bracket has snapped, could this be it? looksl ike i need a welder

Sure could - tinny sound?! I had mine welded for the 4th time yesterday! See what it sounds like after welding up and you'll know if its something else.

Exhaust bracket can create all sorts of odd and scary noises when it snaps! Ask them to weld on some extra metal either side. Kerridges did this for me and I doubt it will go again now.
