Side windows

The seal between the outside of the door glass and the top of the door on my car has become detached. As far as I can see the side window would need to be removed to re-glue this, does anyone know how the glass comes out?

Any help would be most appreciated.

you need to remove the door panel, then remove the window channel. There are two bolts that hold the window on the regulator at the bottom.

Thanks for the reply Kirsty, been away for weekend so only just seen it. Do I need to remove both side channels from the door moulding or just the bottom channel that holds the glass to the lifting mechanism? Taking out the side channels looks a daunting task! Hope you can advise.

take the door panel off then undo the 2 bolts where the glass mounts to the regulator.

Then undo 2 bottom bolts from the A frame where it mounts to the bottom of the door.

Put your hand inside the door and if you follow the A frame up you will find a bolt that holds the a frame to the door, undo that.

Then you need to undo the 8 mm head bolt that is on the short piece of the A frame. Pull the A frame up out of the door and the glass will come out.

I managed to get my drivers door glass out by removing two bolts holding the glass to the regulator, pulling the glass to the top of the door then pulling on the back edge of the glass to sort of roll it out of the door . I didnt remove any of the guide channels, good luck, John.

remove door panel undo 2 10mm nut and bolts holding drop glass to regulator tip drop glass forwards (lift rear of drop glass if you see what i mean no need to remove any runners (used to work on chims and griffs but not cerbs ;-) )

just be careful you don't stretch the runners if you do it the shortcut way
