Just looked on the live timing, and the air pressure is falling and they've forecast thunderstorms.

A wet 2nd half to the race would be fabulous!

only about 6 cars left after the 1st corner shunt - repeat of 2005...

Bit of an exaggeration - 7 cars out

Edit: although after the spin on the restart, you may be depressingly prophetic.

Track temperature is now 51 degrees - can't be good for the tyres. Does anyone know if this gives a relative advantage to one of the tyre manufacturers?

Bridgestone have the advantage in tyres for this race as Michelin decided to go conservative due to the issues at last year's race...

That first corner shunt should have been a red flag i recon. Cant see the F1 circus going to Indy next year, Brundle mentioned the fans were out in there droves but to me the stands look half empty! Shame as i quite like the Indy circuit.

Clearly watching a different race...Rossi starting 12th and riding all the way up to 2nd despite having a broken wrist?!?!! He was some way back in 5th with 9 laps to go and closed and closed...got re-overtaken on the last lap and then re-took for 2nd on the last but one corner! Amazing... Near full opposite locking into corners and then powersliding out - on two wheels..

Supposedly the largest crowd at an F1 race this year (according to speed tv) Indy has a huge spectator area.
