Following some very rapid acceleration then back to 30-40mph, noticed flapping noise. Opened bonnet to see front drive belt shredded around its circumference to about 30% of its width from leading edge!

Limped home but wouldn't risk any further driving.

Any ideas if belt easily available (part number??) and is it DIY replaceable?

Any previous examples when a previously undamaged, un-perished belt decided to give up without notice? Is there need/ availability of an upgraded belt?

Isn't it the air con belt?

If you mean the belt right at the front of the engine, then yes, thats the air-con belt....

Should be able to get one from TMS (www.tvrgear.com/parts.asp?Model=2&ModelName=Cerbera)

Closest thing I can find is a "Poly "J" Belt" at £14.70 Plus Vat

Cut it and take it off before it whips round and breaks something! At least until you can have it fixed properly.
